The idea for our project began the night that Corazana and Jean were drinking wine and flipping through Corazana's copy of the Cosmo Sutra. I had just flossed and brushed, moisturized my face, and climbed into bed hoping to snuggle next to my husband while reading a little bit of the historical literary thriller I'd been plodding through when I heard my phone's musicbox ringtone signaling a text message. Jean had sent me a dark and blurry photo of Corazana holding up a book. I zoomed in to see a cartoon illustration of the Sexy Schooner. Ten minutes later, the Erotic Accordian. They wanted to know if I'd join them in blogging about the Kama Sutra. Why the hell not, I thought and suggested a ridiculous URL address before silencing my phone. I went to sleep, but the idea didn't. It grew and expanded to more of our friends. We discussed which versions of the book we should use (not the Cosmo Sutra, we agreed), time frames, and technical details until the idea and evolved from a late night joke into a genuine project.
So, we drank martinis, determined guidebooks (which you can read more about here), and set a six month deadline, which means our project roughly ends around Valentine's Day, an appropriate day for the culmination of our Kama Sutra Review project.
