About Us

Who are we?

As we discussed and planned our Kama Sutra blog, it crossed our minds that readers might be curious as to which blogger they physically resemble the most. Every couple is different and we felt that readers might understand some of the experiences of the bloggers AND be more willing to try these crazy positions for themselves if they knew people much like themselves tried and survived the experience. Oddly, all four of the authors of this blog have very different partner profiles. The information below might help you imagine who you most resemble.

Corazana
I have been SO MANY different shapes, sizes and levels of physical condition over the years. I'm writing this now as 5' 6'' woman in her early thirties who is currently 25 pounds over her ideal weight. By the time I finish this project, I FULLY expect that I will be back down to my favorite 150 pounds (size 8 -10). Lucky for me, I carry my weight strikingly well.  I have a curvaceous figure and when you see me (I don't want to hear it, Lynn!) my most prominent attribute is THE GIRLS! The more weight I gain, the more noticeable they become (which I think is part of the reason hubby doesn't seem to mind.)  However, I'm not even close to having the perfect proportions of Dawn, who could easily be a 1940s pinup girl and is gorgeous in every way. Although I enjoy being active (sort of) and try to make it to Zumba every week, I will never be as toned, thin, and in shape as Lynn (the "girl next door") who runs for miles (bluck!). Unlike Morgan's long waist and short legs, I have a short waist and long legs. I will admit this makes things much easier between the sheets with my 6' hubby. (who needs to kiss during sex anyway? . . . ha ha!) I would LOVE to have Morgan's thin waist. Much to my chagrin I never notice the weight fluctuations she mentions in her introduction due to her implacable wardrobe and graceful figure. I am generally not outdoorsy, and you are more likely to find my husband and I bonding over a movie or a road trip rather than a mountainous hike or boating exploration. We generally don't even enjoy similar activities when it comes to physical activity. Hubby is tall and thin. He wouldn't be described as athletic and probably never will be. Although he does stay physically active to some extent, the 5 pounds he has on me does NOT make me feel more secure when contemplating sexual positions that require him to hold my full weight. (God bless him!)  He swears he's fat (his jean size is 33/34). Ha! He's up for anything and has been a great sport about our project. We've been married for 6 years, have no children, two cats and are ready for the Kama Sutra challenges ahead!

I am married with elementary school-aged kids. And just for the record, let me add that the kids sleeping in the bedrooms next door really add another element to this project. (All positions requiring the kitchen table - OUT.)  As far as my physical appearance goes, I am the crowd, I am "the girl next door."   I'm in my early thirties, stand 5 foot 7, and weigh in at 135 pounds.  My friends are FORCING me to include in my bio that I am a tanned and toned athletic type. However, I would NEVER use these words to describe myself. My husband is a pretty big guy, he is about 6 foot 1 and weighs 240 pounds, and Corazana once described him as an ex-football player, which I suppose is a fitting description of his broad shoulders and thick hands.  I like to play almost any sport or do any outdoor activity.  I'm a runner, albeit not a very good one, but it keeps my head clear and helps me stay in shape, so I stick with it as much as I can.  My flexibility, on the other hand, is utterly lacking.  I can't even touch my own toes.  Sad, I know.  But my husband and I have been together for 12 years now, so he is well aware of my limitations, as am I of his.  We have a very comfortable relationship.  But as you can imagine, that is both good and bad.  We have no secrets and I don't feel like I can be embarrassed in front of him, so I'm not intimidated by this project.  On the other hand, comfortable also means that he doesn't usually get as much sex and I don't get as much romance as we both would prefer.  I predict this project will be great for us. We both win.

Pears.  I like pears, and according to magazines, I look like a pear, too.  On my better days, I have tiny waist and small chest.  Other parts of my body, such as my hands, feet, and facial features suggest I should be smaller than I am.  My lower half is "juicy" like a pear, which my husband swears he likes.  At 5'5" (me) and 5'10" (him), we fit together pretty well.  My long torso and short legs do complicate some standing positions, though.  We are very close in weight, which suggests (accurately) that he is much leaner looking.  He does, however, had just a tiny belly that appeared shortly after he started drinking beer many years ago.  Neither of us workout regularly but we both enjoy activities that get us out and moving, such as biking, hiking, and canoeing.  He spends a great deal more time than me outside walking, and occasionally fishing, in local streams and rivers.  We have been married for three years and together for four.  We have no children and a four-post bed. :)
